What is the time commitment?
Summer Swim Sessions:
Most swimmers practice four times a week. Summer swim starts in May and until school is out, practice is after school (see the Practice Schedule for exact days and times). Starting in mid-June, practices will be in the mornings. Younger kids practice an hour a day, older kids practice for two hours a day. There are also swim meets on most weekends of June, July and the beginning of August.
Swim meets are optional, but they are a lot of fun!
Swim meets are typically a two-day (Saturday and Sunday) event - the Grand Forks meet is the exception; it's a Sunday-only meet and designed especially for new and young swimmers.
Winter & Spring Swim Sessions:
Swimmers in the lower divisions (novice-Division 3) practice for 1 hour, twice a week. Divisions 4-8 practice for 2 hours on Saturday mornings.
